Dive enthusiasts give Yap resort top honors

Colonia, Yap- The divers have voted.  Yap’s Manta Ray Bay Resort and Yap Divers has been elected to receive two awards for being among their favorite dive resorts in the world.

The first is from DIVE magazine. Out of 461 diver centers and resorts, MRBR has been chosen as one of the top 26 across the globe. “We ended up with Top 26 going through to the vote as two dive centres tied for 25th place,” according to the popular UK-based magazine. “We are honored to be the only resort in Micronesia to receive this award and to be among such a stellar group of resorts and dive centers,” said Bill Acker, founder of MBRB, a small, family-owned, luxury hotel and restaurant in business since 1986.

The other vote of confidence is from Scuba Diving magazine’s readers’ choice awards that placed the resort in fifth place for dive resorts in the Pacific/Indian Ocean/Red Sea category. Every year, “thousands of dive enthusiasts vote on their favorite dive destinations, operators, liveaboards, resorts, sites and more,” notes the magazine.

“Neither of these awards would have happened without our staff who always give a warm welcome and great service to all of our guests,” added Acker.
